Seeking information on William ACKER who was born about 1780/85 and resided in South Bethlehem and northern Coeymans township of Albany County. He and wife (name unknown) had 2 children: Henry born about September 1804 in Albany County and a daughter (name unknown) born within 2 or 3 years of Henry. The 1840 Coeymans census seems to indicate that William's wife had died and living with him were his daughter and her 5 small children. Henry ACKER married Hannah ? about 1829. Their children: William H. (born about 1831) married Eliza STACEY, Christopher (born about January 1833) married Mary "Polly" STACEY, Sarah Maria "Sally" (born about 1835) married Jacob BANKER, Nancy (born about 1840) married Peter VAN HOESEN, Andrew (born about 1844) died young. Would appreciate anything regarding the identity of William's parents, wife, and daughter as well as the maiden name of Henry's wife.

Seeking ancestors and descendants of Amos ALGER (b abt 1771) and wife, Sarah (b abt 1772). They lived in Rensalaerville, Albany County, NY, and can be found there in the US censuses from 1800-1850. Amos and Sarah ALGER had at least six children: 1-William (b 1795), 2-Celement (1796-1835. m Margaret HESS), 3-Syvester (1798-1885. m Harriet Polly MONROE), 4-Barrett (b abt 1800. m Eveline MONK), 5-Nelson, and 6-Lucy. Have been looking for over 16yrs. for Wm.? Elias ALLEN b. 1795/96 poss. Saratoga Co., NY, he married Susan FRINK b. 1796/97, she the dau. of Stephen & Hannah (WORDEN) FRINK, "Elias" & Susan lived in the town of Solon from 1820 - abt.1848, when the family migrated down into Troupsburg, Steuben Co., NY, Elias & Susan had these known children - Maria Elizabeth, William Elias, Asel Alanson, Norman, Alvin, Drucilla, Rosilla. Last year we celebrated our 100th ALLEN-MACK Reunion, we so wanted to find the ancestor's of our "Elias" ALLEN. Does anyone know if he might have been related to the Elias ALLEN & Welthy BILL from the town of Taylor? Hope to make the next reunion a happy one. Have lot of information to share on this family.

I'm searching for information on David Ambrose b. Nov 18, 1880 Elmira, NY d. May 1925 Ambridge, PA. Only information I have is from his obituary. This is my grandfather. He had a brother Joseph, four sisters: Mrs. Jas. Welsh, Mrs. Paul Hildreth,
Katherine Ambrose, Julia Ambrose. He also had two daughters from a previous marriage: Mrs. Pauline Saulding, and Gertrude Ambrose all of Elmira. His second marriage was to a Effie Shriver (my grandmother) 3 sons: Frank, Richard and Robert, all of Ambridge at birth. He died when the boys were young, and they knew nothing of their father.

I am trying to find the birthplace of my g-g grandfather, Stephen W. Andrus. He wrote in his family Bible that he was born in 1828 in Seneca Co., N.Y., but I have never been able to confirm this. I wonder if he might have been born elsewhere in N.Y., and lived as a young boy in Seneca Co. His parents were Samuel Andrus & Eliza Miller; Samuel was born about 1806 and was later a carpenter & farmer and probably a Baptist. Other children of Samuel & Eliza born in N.Y. were Cornelia, George, Emugene, and Francis. Any help gratefully received !
